Special Characterisics
The U.S. is regaurded throuout the wold as a symbol for FREEDOM
- Early in our country there was no Republican Party
- 100% of all slave owners were Democrat
- The Republican Party was formed SOLELY for the purpose of eliminating slavery
- Democrats tried to hold on to their power by acquiring land from Mexico in order to have more "slave states"
- Republicans were unable to eliminate slavery using peaceful means and had to fight the Democrats in a bloody Civil War.
- The Democrats lost the war, and lost their slaves
- The Democrats murdered President Lincoln
- The Democrats enacted "Jim Crow" laws in all Democrat states
- The Democrats formed the Kloo Klux Klan
- President Dwight D. Eisenhower (Republican) signed the Civil Rights Act to make all people equal
- Democrats were against Civil Rights and Racial Integration
- John F Kenedy (Democrat) supported Racial Integration and proposed the Civil Rights Bill in 1963 . He was murdered that year.
- The Bill was blocked by Rules Committee Chairman Howard Smith (Democrat)
- Linden B Johnson (Democrat and extreme racist) was against Civil rights until he realized it could be used as a way to suppress the black man.
- Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirksen (Republican) and other Republican Senators supported the Bill as a way to excelerate progress or black Americans
- Richard Brevard (Democrat) was the leader in opposing the Bill in the Senate
- When Democrats began to see the Bill in the same light as President Johnson, they voted in favor.
- As intended by President Johnson; since the passing of the Bill, the black population has made little progress.
- Marten Luther King supported Racial Integration. He was murdered by a Democrat
The primary facet of the Republican Party is Freedom.
Republicans believe that all humans should be free. This includes freedom from government authoritarianism.
To be free, however, people need to be responsible. When people become irresponsible, some freedoms become lost.
Republicans believe that all men are created equal and independent. All people have the right to Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Freedom of religion
Freedom of speech
Freedom of the press
Freedom of assembly
Right to bear arms
Republicans also believe in a Free Economy where all honest hardworking people are free to earn a good living, keep the money they earn, and spend the money as they choose.
